The part nobody warns you about
Collecting the hours isn't the hard part. It's the ninety minutes after that. Somebody wrote 7:45 and meant 7:15. Somebody worked forty-three hours across two weeks and now you're working out whether that's overtime. Somebody took a half day in March and nobody wrote it down. Then a holiday lands on a Sunday. By the time the file is right, it's Friday afternoon and the morning is gone.
Boring things we got right
Overtime is calculated per workweek, not per pay period
That's what the law actually requires, and it's where two-week cycles quietly go wrong. Get it backwards and you either underpay someone or hand them an argument you'll lose.
Twice a month is handled properly
Weekly, every two weeks, twice a month, monthly. Twice a month is the one that breaks other systems, because the periods aren't equal lengths and the overtime week doesn't line up with them.
Holidays move to the observed day on their own
July 4th 2027 falls on a Sunday. It pays on Monday the 5th. You don't have to remember that, and you don't have to remember it again in 2032.
Time off accrues on the hours actually worked
At whatever rate you set. Longer-serving people can earn faster if that's your policy, and it applies itself without anyone updating a spreadsheet.
A closed week stays closed
Approve, release, finalize. Once a period has gone to payroll, nobody quietly edits it underneath you.
Every edit has a name on it
When a manager fixes a timecard, the change records who made it and when. Additions, edits and deletions all land in an audit log. If somebody questions a paycheck six weeks later, you can answer them in about ten seconds.
People clock in from their phones
No app to install, nothing to update, no app store. It runs in the browser they already have. Bookmark it once and it behaves like an app.
The hours reach payroll without anyone retyping them
An open API connects Clockodial to your payroll provider, or close the period and export a CSV instead. Either way, nobody is keying numbers from one system into another at eleven at night.

I'm a part-owner of two logistics companies. How does it get hours to my payroll provider?
You close the pay period and export a CSV, which your payroll provider imports. Clockodial does not move money or file taxes.
How long does setup take?
Minutes. You answer a short setup wizard about your pay schedule, time off rules and holidays, add your people, and you are running. A small team can be finished before the coffee is.
Do people need to install an app?
No. Clocking in works in a phone browser, so there is nothing to download and nothing to keep updated.
